After the usual business discussion of events attended and upcoming events, Rory O’Kelly from Croydon MIND gave an interesting talk about the work done there to increase access to benefits for people with mental health problems. Some of their research indicated that, prior to their involvement only a third of people were receiving their full benefit entitlement. After their involvement, the majority were and their annual income had increased by substantial amounts. The project is being written up.
